Tree Fort

We had one nice day over Easter at the lake and we had predetermined that our goal was to build a sweet tree fort for the kids. Thursday morning we headed out on a walk to find the perfect location. There were many options but we committed to an area on the way to the corral that had some perfectly spaced trees.

There was tons of deadfall from crazy winds so we had the kids help us haul branches to the fort locale.  The boy one helped us hold up branches to nail and saw off the ends :)

To be honest, the little's interest was very short lived but the tall one and I were determined to do it anyways. The kids had a blast running through the paths around us and exploring with Gma and Gpa.

The littles showing off the progress to Gma after lunch.

Bear approves.

The boy one spent a good deal of time creating this "Rock Party". It's a fascinating piece really.

Still going strong!

Fort almost complete. Walls and roof are up!

The tall one decided it wasn't "private" enough so he started weaving branches through vertically.

The kids and I took a wagon out to the horse shelter and picked out some furniture (aka stumps).

Now the fort is already for decorating and playing the next time we visit!
